Recreational League

Current Competitive/Travel players are not permitted to participate in the Recreational program. 

UNDER 4 TO UNDER 5 PROGRAM

For players born Sept 1 2020 to Aug 31 2022

•  8 one hour sessions on Sunday afternoons. Some sessions may run on a Saturday when needed.  
•  Each player will receive a team t-shirt. 

Designed to introduce the game of soccer. Each weekly session begins with 30 minutes of instructional, fun drills taught by ESC staff in group form. Players then split into their pre-assigned scrimmage teams with a volunteer coach for a 25 minute game. The games are played in a 4v4 format with no goalkeeper.  

Season:  Sept 7th - Oct 26th
Fee:          $260 ($235 before  7/1/2025)

KINDERGARTEN (U6) - 8TH GRADE PROGRAM  For players born Sept 1 2011 to Aug 31 2020 8 games on Saturdays. Some double headers, weekday/Sunday games may be played.. 1 practice per week  at the coaches discretion.   The day ( Mon/Tues/Thu/Fri) & time (4:30/5:30/6:30)  is determined by the coach.  If a practice day & time is a priority, then we encourage you to volunteer to coach.   NOTE: Players will not be moved from one team to another because practice times or locations are not convenient. Season:  Sept 2nd-Oct 26th Fee:          $260 ($235 before  7/1/2025) New players to Ela Soccer Club will need to purchase a uniform kit for $65. The uniform can be used for multiple seasons.

HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS  Registration closes on July 6th Returning to Ela Soccer Club recreational program this fall is the High School Girls program! Season runs end of August to end of October Teams at the U16 and U19 divisions will be formed to participate in the Blackmore Recreational League.  This league consists of teams from surrounding communities playing each other.  8 League games will be scheduled -  4 home games at Knigge or Wicklow fields and 4 away games.  All games will be played on Sunday afternoons.   The team(s) will practice 1 or 2 times per week at discretion of the volunteer coach. The dates and times will be set by the volunteer. Fee: $235 New players to Ela Soccer Club will need to purchase a uniform kit for $65.

Important Information

Team, gender and age combinations in any given season may vary based on registration to form developmentally appropriate leagues.     We do our best to balance teams.  Date of registration is considered for team formation decisions.   Late registrants are placed on teams with openings . Specific team or friend requests are not taken. If there is a specific extenuating/carpool need we will do what we can to honor the request, however the request must be reciprocal. Both families must make the same request.   

Players will not be moved from one team to another for practice time conflicts. 

All head coaches receive a $30 credit at the end of the season for volunteering. If practice days and times are important please consider volunteering!  If more parents volunteer to coach at an age level than there are teams, then not everyone will be able coach. If we are short coaches at an age level we will request volunteers come forward. If no one volunteers the team is disbanded and players spread out among other teams. 

Ela Soccer Club has the right to change any of these rules or make a decision that would be in the best interest of the participants.

Total Skills Academy

8 WEEKS  - Wednesdays  Sept 3rd - Oct 22nd

Sharpen your skills in a challenging but fun environment with our experienced coaching staff.  Designed to foster skill improvement and build player confidence.

**  SPACE IS LIMITED  ** Registration will close when capacity is reached. 

Time slots (55 min): 

• Kindergarten(u6)        4:30pm 
• 1st Grade*                        4:30pm & 5:30pm
• 2nd & 3rd  Grade*        5:30pm & 6:30pm
• 4th to 8th Grade *         5:30pm & 6:30pm 
  *Timeslots will be assigned based on registration. 

Players are divided by age & ability within the timeslot

If there is insufficient sign up at a timeslot Ela Soccer reserves the right to move participants to the alternate slot.

Recreation Program Playing Level Policy

 All participants of ESC shall play in a league according to their grade.
A year is from Sept 1st through Aug 31st – encompassing the fall and spring outdoor season and the winter indoor season. No participant shall be allowed to play at a level below their age (play down) except in the case of extreme physical limitations. These exceptions need to be documented and approved prior to the season. 
 A participant requesting to play at an age level above his age (play up) can only do so by one of the following: 

• attending a minimum of 4 weeks of skill practice sessions provided by ESC or
• attending 4 days of summer camp provided by ESC or
• a previous ESC Travel Player and
• the recommendation of the Director of Coaching (ESC staff position).  
  A Player Evaluation form must be requested by contacting the Executive Director (jackie.marais@elasoccer.com ) and handed to the evaluator at the session. This must be completed and signed prior to team assignments each year. All exceptions must be approved/renewed on a yearly basis.
